The Freaky Weather

I was walking down to the park when I heard a deep rumble in the sky.

“What the heck was that?” I yelled. I didn’t hear much for a few months after that.

After three months, it started raining every few days in the usually sunny Miami. But when the weather changed dramatically was after four months; it was raining every day. It got so bad that they had to close the beach because of really bad thunder storms every other day. I Googled why it was happening; it said that it was just all of the water that had built up since it last rained (which was ages ago) but I am slightly disappointed that it was so boring.

Water Attack

“Harry!” called my dad. “Come help me!”

“With what?” I asked.

“The sink.”

As I jogged down the stairs, I noticed a drill on the floor and I immediately knew that dad was doing something to the pipes.

“AAAHHHH!!” my dad screamed. I ran into the kitchen to see my dad being sprayed in the face by water from the pipes; he tried to stop it but the water just kept gushing out.

“Oh my goodness!” I shouted through my laughter. “What happened?!”

“I don’t know!” he replied. “Go turn off the water supply!”

“How?!” I questioned. Before I could go anywhere, my mum turned off the water supply and stood in the doorway with her face red with anger.

Aunt Julie’s Dinner Party

“I have to go to my great aunt’s house for dinner,” I texted my friend.

“Hahaha, have fun!” she replied in a sarcastic tone.

I could hear my mum calling me to hurry up. When I got downstairs, she grabbed my phone and said: “No phones all night.”

My sister started laughing at me. My mum looked at her and then then held her hand out for her phone.

“You too,” she said firmly.

… 20 minutes later …

“Oh, how lovely it is to see you again!” exclaimed my aunt.

“Hello Julie,” replied my mum.

“Oh, hello Mark,”  she said in a less happy tone.

“Hi Julie,” replied dad.

… 1 hour later …

“Dinner!” called my aunt.

We looked at the dinner. I couldn’t eat anything so burnt.

Slime Attack!

“What are you doing?” I asked my friend.

“Playing with slime,” she replied. “It’s actually really fun!”

As I was walking away, I heard an ear-piercing screech. I turned around in a panic and it was Lola. She was screaming that her slime was moving like someone was poking and it wasn’t her. I sprinted over.

“Calm down!” I shouted

“Someone’s touching my slime and it isn’t me!” she replied.

Just as she said that, the slime flew into the air and landed in a tree. The slime dripped through the branches and onto the floor. We were terrified and we both ran away.

The Race

“OK, so the race is next Tuesday, so start practising,” Sir said to us.

“What time is the race?” questioned a child.

“Right after lunch at quarter past one,” replied sir. “So we’ll get our P.E. kits on before we go to lunch.”

The race they were talking about was a tradition at Aveley Primary. It is held on the field every year on the 15th March. Every one loves it except me: I absolutely hate it; it is always hot on the day that it is held. I always make up excuses to get out of it. This year I said: ” I have really bad hay fever and I start sneezing half way through so that’s why I’m always last.”
