After all our hard work during SATs week, we have enjoyed a practical afternoon of science (followed by PE).

We investigated different components, experimenting with how we could vary or fix circuits. Here are some pics of today’s session (Diana doesn’t look too impressed, but Rachel is perhaps too overexcited!).

Today we began our new science topic on light.

Did you know?

  • Light travels at 299,792 km every second in air.
  • Light travels in straight lines.
  • Insects can see ultra-violet light, which humans cannot.
  • The Moon reflects light from the Sun – it is not a light source.

Here are some photographs of us investigating how light travels. Mr S just let us go for it which made him a bit stressed but we still learnt lots!
